Plan-It Earth

Plan-It Earth was a student-organized sustainability forum that took place at Prince of Whales Secondary in April.  Approximately 120  high-school students assembled to consider how we can achieve a sustainable future for the GVRD.  They looked through the lenses of urban planners to decide where in the region they would place a new community of 10,000 people and what that community should look like.  A number of innovative green technologies were highlighted, as well as the need for inclusive communities and education.

The focus of the Green Mapping workshop was to introduce students to the concept of memory mapping and think about how and why they choose the routes they do in getting to school – with a focus on active and sustainable transportation.
